This site is operated by Vantari Works, hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and uses Google Analytics for basic traffic trends such as pages viewed, referral source, approximate region, and browser or device type. Google Analytics may use a first-party analytics cookie to distinguish sessions. We use this information to improve the site and Display Dimmer, not for personalized advertising. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

The activation page does not load Google Analytics, and license keys are never sent to Google. Website demos record one anonymous event on first interaction: the demo, its page, and the kind of control used. They do not send slider values, color temperatures, URL queries, or license information. Direct Pro purchase links also record one anonymous selection event for aggregate reporting. Demos and checkout still work if analytics cannot be sent.

For the Mac beta list, we store the email address you submit and its signup time in a Cloudflare database so we can contact you about Mac beta testing. If you choose to answer the optional follow-up survey, we also store your Mac model and chip, macOS version, monitor, connection or dock, DisplayLink usage, desired features, and willingness to pay with that signup. Cloudflare Turnstile checks signup submissions for abuse. We do not sell or use beta-list emails for unrelated marketing. To leave the list or request deletion, email support@displaydimmer.com from the address you registered.

We separately count Mac-banner impressions and clicks, Mac-page visits, and completed new registrations by day and broad platform type. These counters do not store email addresses, IP addresses, browser identifiers, or individual event histories. The Windows/Mac homepage view choice is stored in your browser so it overrides automatic device detection.

If you email support, we use your message and email address only to respond and provide support. We do not sell support emails or use them for advertising.

Display Dimmer app

Display Dimmer is distributed through Microsoft Store. Brightness levels, schedules, app rules, themes, and other preferences stay on your PC.

The app reads the Windows and display information it needs to work, including connected monitors and capabilities such as DDC/CI support. It does not use that information to build a browsing or activity profile.

Anonymous usage and reliability telemetry

The app sends a small number of anonymous aggregate events so we can understand which parts of Display Dimmer are useful and where reliability needs attention. These events may include:

• App version and whether a start is from a new install or a returning session.
• Broad feature use, such as opening Schedules or App Rules, or enabling Gamma Guard, startup, or DDC/CI control.
• Coarse install-age, active-day, and return-use ranges rather than exact dates or timestamps.
• Whether a crash or hang detector was triggered.

App telemetry does not include your name, email address, Microsoft account, payment information, documents, screenshots, browser history, full hardware IDs, or a persistent user, device, visitor, or install identifier. Events cannot be joined into a personal activity history.

Optional diagnostics reports

Display Dimmer may offer to send a report after a crash, hang, or serious reliability issue. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.

A report may include only the technical context needed to investigate the problem, such as:

• Windows and Display Dimmer versions.
• Basic CPU, GPU, monitor, connection, and DDC/CI information.
• Recent Display Dimmer logs, errors, and brightness-control timing.

Reports are designed to exclude personal files, screenshots, browser history, passwords, usernames, machine names, and personal file paths. Some device and runtime details may be included when needed to diagnose compatibility. Reports are used only for support and product reliability; they are not sold or used for advertising.

Purchases and licensing

Pro purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy or Microsoft under their privacy policies. Vantari Works does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

For a direct purchase, activating your key sends the key and a generic app-instance label to the Lemon Squeezy License API over HTTPS. The activated license is cached locally and encrypted for your Windows user. License keys are not included in app telemetry, logs, or diagnostics.

To confirm purchases, handle refunds, and report aggregate sales, the Display Dimmer service keeps a one-way keyed order reference plus limited order status, product, total, currency, timing, and attribution fields. It does not keep the customer name, email or postal address, license key, customer ID, receipt URL, full card details, or raw provider payload.

Microsoft may also provide aggregate Store statistics, such as install counts, regions, and broad device, OS, or usage summaries, depending on Microsoft and Windows privacy settings.
